Welcome to Lakeville 

Lakeville is one of the southern suburbs of Minneapolis and St. Paul. It is located about 30 minutes south of the metro area. It is also one of the suburbs people are referring to as “South of the River”, meaning south of the Minnesota River. 

There are many different choices of real estate in Lakeville. It has Single Family Homes, Condominiums, Town Homes, Acreage property like Hobby Farms and Country Homes. There is also Lakeshore available as well. There are three lakes in Lakeville. They are Crystal Lake, Orchard Lake and Lake Marion. All of these lakes are very clean and perfect for year round use like boating, swimming, fishing, water skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and skating. You can still find plenty of new construction and land available by several area builders who would love to build a custom home for you. 

The school district is Lakeville Independent School District 194. It has two high schools, three middle schools and nine elementary schools. They offer a variety of special need classes, sports and music programs.  

Lakeville has many parks and recreation areas. There are miles of walking trails and bike routes. Most of the parks have picnic areas and play structures. Lakeville is located 25 minutes from the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport. Only 15 minutes from the world famous Mall of America. There are two downhill ski areas near by, Buck Hill which is 10 minutes away and Welch Village which is a much larger ski area and that is about a 45 minute drive. There are many golf courses to choose from in all price ranges from public to private. Lakeville features many shops including several different grocery stores like Cub Foods, Rainbow Foods, Target/Archer Farms and Kowalski’s Market. The Burnsville Mall is also within a 10 minute drive. Not to mention endless strip malls. The closest Hospital is The Ridges located in Burnsville. That is about 5 to 10 minutes away. The Minnesota Zoo is located in Eagan which is about a 15 minute drive. There are 2 water parks nearby as well. 

Every summer Lakeville celebrated Pan-O-Prog; which is a celebration of the cities progress. There are always so many things to do for families as well as adults. You owe it to yourself to check it out.
